Strand Feeding

It was six years ago that National Geographic sent a crew down to the Lowcountry to capture the phenomenon on called “strand feeding”.  It is not seen anywhere else except here on the coast of South Carolina and in some parts of Georgia, from around Charleston to down around Savannah.

“In an extraordinary twist on age-old hunting tactics, a group of South Carolina bottlenose dolphins takes hunting to the shore. It’s a high-risk maneuver that threatens to strand them with each attempt”
